In the unveiling of an innovative breakthrough, Hamilton Caster & Mfg. Co. introduces its patented spring-loaded caster design, marking a significant stride in caster technology. The introduction of spring-loaded casters brings forth a multitude of advantages, such as shielding delicate cargo from shocks and vibrations, minimizing noise levels, reducing floor wear, and extending the life of casters, wheels, and bearings.
Hamilton’s design mastery takes center stage in this revolutionary concept. The strategic placement of the axle directly beneath the spring ensures vertical alignment of the load with the spring. This distinctive approach sets it apart from conventional models that employ pivot-arms for spring action transfer. Instead, Hamilton pioneers a “floating axle” concept in their new design, optimizing efficiency and reducing manufacturing complexity by employing fewer components.
This cutting-edge spring-loaded design finds application across three renowned hot forged steel caster series: Champion, Workhorse, and Heavy Service. Each series is tailored to different top plate dimensions, guaranteeing compatibility with a wide array of spring-loaded applications. The diverse wheel options range from moldon rubber and polyurethane on iron to phenolic and solid polyurethane, available in sizes spanning from 4×2″ to 12×3″. Capacities vary from 125 lbs to 1,630 lbs based on spring and wheel selections.
